I discovered my love of massage long before I ever thought of becoming a massage therapist. As a child, I massaged my family’s feet and witnessed the great relief and relaxation they would experience from just a few minutes in my completely untrained hands. As I grew older, I found myself offering friends and family brief chair massages and noticed that the results were remarkable.
In later years, I worked on movie sets and noticed the crew looking and feeling wiped out from working six days a week, 14 hours per day. I would offer them massages and once again noticed their demeanors would instantly change.
On a trip to study in the Brazilian Rain Forest in Bahia, I received a massage and decided then that I wanted to really learn massage. Upon returning to Los Angeles I immediately enrolled at California Healing Arts in Santa Monica.
For the past 12 years, I have studied a number of modalities including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Reflexology, Thai Stretching. At Life Energy Institute located in Topanga Canyon I trained in Polarity and then Craniosacral Unwinding with Craniosacral master Gary Strauss.
More recently I became interested in how trauma gets held in the body and how to release it from a neuro-scientific standpoint using Somatic Trauma Release which is based on the work of esteemed neuroscientist Peter Levine, PhD. I love how this work tunes people into the more subtle messages of the body to release things in an extremely gentle and often enjoyable way.
I LOVE my job. Not many people can say that. I am so grateful to be doing this work and for the opportunity to help people not only feel better, but to explore and find ways they haven’t considered to get the most ease and freedom possible in their bodies, their minds, and their lives.
